these pictures are from our annual Banquet held at Golden Corral in Russell, KY. first is V.P. Greg Freeman giving out the annual smallest bass of the year award. 2nd is Jim Cochran with the big bass of the year 6.18lbs. 3. is Cole Willis our youngest member at 14 with his 2cnd place place in the Classic award. The Bass club was started in the early 70,s when Tournament Bass Fishing was not considered a sport by many like it is today. The club started with a group of friends with a passion for Bass fishing and a competitive spirit. Fishing against each other to see who was the best on that day just for fun. That group is now 42 members strong ranging in ages from 14 to their 60,s. And its not just a mans sport we have wives, daughters, nieces participating too. This sport is for everyone. Today's Bass fishing is well known thanks to televised shows and big money sponsors, that provide opportunities for High School and College teams to fish for scholarship moneys. The L.C.B.C. does have some successful fisherman outside of the club itself like a member who qualified all the way to the Redman All-American Bass tournament, that's big. we also have members who fish the Bassmasters Opens, and Ohio Division Bassmasters Weekend series, and the F.L.W. some with great success at the Professional level. But most of our members are just regular sportsman who enjoy competitive bass fishing. Our longest participating member Greg Freeman V.P. has been in the club since 1979. Greg states he is very proud of how far the club has come from just a group of fisherman to a group of fisherman teaching others about fishing. The L.C.B.C. annually volunteers at the Wheeling Sportsman event held at Lake Vesuvius, and the Kids Fishing Derby held there too. We also have members trained and certified by the state of Ohio to Teach the Passport to Fishing class to kids ( scouts and others). All our members are dedicated to this sport and passing it on. Our club is supported by local Businesses thru sponsorships we thank each and everyone. I have only been in the club for 5 years and President for 4 , I joined a great group of  sportsman I now consider friends. This is a family sport so take your family fishing. Don't let your kid be the one to get away. For anyone wishing join the club or for more info log on to lawrencecountybassclub.com or contact me John Fitzpatrick at 740-479-1463
